dottie is super good. i've listened to this probably 5 times and each time i'm like "ok well lambspring is easily the weakest song" but it feels wrong to say because it's really good and has qualities that are unique compared to the rest of the album, i.e. the washy swells that happen in the verse
no bad songs at all

I could listen to Dottie on repeat all day.
Also smoking a joint to this album is transcendent I must say

Yeah when this released on Friday I got pretty baked and listened for like 5 hours in a row lol

Lambspring is ok in my book, not big on the first half of Fear of Being Fixed but boi that ending is a treat
consistent album !

This is growing a bit after 3 spins. It does feel a little incomplete to me though, not because of the length per se so much as the track flow feeling like it’s missing a couple key points. Especially weird because this is a concept album and it was released 5 years after the previous one. But there are some great songs for sure, I think tracks 6 and 7 are my faves.

gotta listen some more before i form a full opinion but i like this a lot

As you noted in your review, the way songs like "Dottie" and "Dissembler" conclude drives me nuts. I'm not a fan of those endings at all. It feels like super lazy songwriting. That said, I'm enjoying this despite those odd decisions. "Doubts" is gorgeous.

Sounds p interesting, my shoegaze repertoire is certainly limited but I love stuff that's all warm and fuzzy n stuff so I'll probably dig

i don't think this *has* to be viewed as a shoegaze album tbqh, although that side of it defs lives up to the label

Dottie's ending is so abrupt yeah, arguably the best section on the entire album and it just... stops. That's probably my only complaint with this tho.

this to me isn’t something meant to be hyper analyzed structurally and none of the songs strike me as feeling incomplete

even after wearing it out when it was released, i still think that the last 2 minutes of Lost Meaning are the best two minutes of this whole album

Idk loveis, check the band’s description on Bandcamp:
Dissolution Wave is a concept - a space western in which an act of theoretical physics—the dissolution wave—wipes out all of humanity’s existing art and abstract thought. In order to keep the world spinning on its axis, songsmiths must fill the ether with their compositions. Meanwhile, the Spire and Ward of Song act as a filter for human imagination: Only the best material can pass through the filter and keep the world turning.
I’d guess they expect people to analyze this lol

write one album and call it a loose concept album and here come 900 mfs saying the third song is a minute too short
