"This album is frustrating as hell. Lots of really great moments surrounded by completely forgettable ones. Like the bridge and closer to Animals is great and the rest of the song is trash. They refuse to lean in to the P/R aspects more.."

I can definitely see what you mean, and that was why in the review I said they should vary things up a bit. The one big issue I have with the album is the homogeneity of it, despite how much I enjoy the songs

this was a really nice listen - nothing more than 'nice' for me, but i'm sure it'll get a bunch of plays from me. it's comforting.

Not bad, but a tad too simple for me I'm afraid

Yeah I wanted to like this a lot but besides the first track and a few scattered ones it's just meh.

youth/decay is by fair their best track and it's not even on here

they fell victim to spiritbox syndrome - way too many tracks were released as singles and it sounds like a compilation rather than an album

Blandest post-metal I've heard in a good while, although it could maybe have been solid with less overbearing production.

"reminds me of post-Niege Lantlos a bit."

I can definitely see where that comparison is coming from. Lots of increased emphasis on the shoegaze elements in those later Lantlos albums

"it's like listening to peaceful mantras while jammin to heavy riffs"

Now I'm tempted to change my review summary to "peaceful mantras and heavy riffs"
