This is still the same band but with very few traces of Deathcore and nothing to do with Halo anymore. Much more melodeath in spirit. While I do like it, I do feel like Melancholy was a stronger record overall. Had a bit more bite to it and the instrumental track on that kills this one.

I have returned to report that both this and the FFAA album slapped back-to-back

It's been slim pickings so far in '22 but this one deserves recognition. They've struck a nice balance between melody, aggression and technicality. It's been getting better for me with each listen too. Excellent albums tend to do that. While I'll admit that "Of Fury" was the hook that initially reeled me in there's ample quality throughout.

Only one listen through so far. Initial thoughts are that it's a bit too long and overly symphonic at times which took a little bit of getting used to from my perspective...but damn there's some good stuff on here.

3.8

I've not heard any of their previous stuff before, so this comes into my ears pretty fresh from a 'signature sound' perspective or whatever.

I'm fully on board with it though. That 3.8 is already a 4.2 and I reckon might climb even higher with more listens. Will check the back catalogue ASAP.

Reconquest could be ditched off the tracklist though, doesn't really add much, particularly as the Elegy trio follows right on from it.

New to them as well tbh and in fact a lot of these bands I'm starting to get into. Deathcore was never my go. But a few comments above it's clear why im diggin.
