Opening song felt lethargic but the second(?) had a nice space rock section. Think I'll properly check

This is such a deliciously sounding album. In a way similar to Piecework by Kowloon Walled City, another strong 4.5 album from this fall, they could play almost anything with this sound and groove and it's soo comforting. The bass and drum sound especially. Long Division is a gem, Disintegration comparisons are on point. Time to revisit rest of Failure discography, I love Fantastic Planet but haven't heard much of the rest.

I agree Sabrutin, first track really underwhelmed me but the rest of the album is great
Which is odd because the first track on the last album was by far my favourite and the rest of it underwhelmed

"band seem to attract people who say Nirvana are trash and then... they sound like a lifeless version and very average, but just not well known, wow selling point"
idk Doof, I love Nirvana but I like what I've heard from this band a fair bit. They scratch different itches for me.
"Apocalypse Blooms" was in my top 25 songs or thereabouts for 2018 so I should probably check this

What's with the Nirvana comparisons
They sound like a more grounded Hum, if anything

Wait, what? Noooooo. First track on Future is the Beck one. The rest is the true new Failure, with a nailed atmosphere and flow. Wtf bro. Lol. Big hug tho Shem

Haha it’s all good, I know I’m in the minority on that one but I tried that album three or four different times over the year and probably listened about 15 times and it just never clicked

I've just discovered this band, and I have to say that I feel like I've been missing out. Any recommendations?

Fantastic Planet is the recommendation mate, the final run of tracks on that from The Nurse Who Loved Me is godly
I only got into them last year too

Submarines is such a banger. Maybe my favorite Failure track.
