I always thought BSN was their best but based on all the praise for Juturna, I need to revisit it. It's been ages.

There's an effortlessness and energy that they straight up just never achieved again after Juturna

Anyone listen to the Colin Frangicetto mix of Anthony's Avalon solo album? This reminds of that

Admittedly its grown on me a bit but there's something about Gone For Good that annoys me

"There's an effortlessness and energy that they straight up just never achieved again after Juturna"

these are the opinions i can't even slightly wrap my mind around. maybe the energy on Juturna is displayed in a more raw fashion but saying that they've yet to capture that again is crazy

Yeah, I don't get that at all. Juturna is amazing but so is the rest of their work. "Inconsistent" is the last adjective that I would use to describe the quality of anything that Circa has touched. I'm just sitting here wondering what the supposed low points are on Blue Sky Noise. Or how On Letting Go could be considered a step down from Juturna in any meaningful way.

I can see it. Band is very hit or miss for me. Granted I don’t think they’ve ever put out anything bad, but they vary between good and incredible for me pretty widely

On Letting Go's drop in quality after Juturna is vastly exaggerated. Blue Sky Noise is great from start to finish. Don't listen to those clowns :p

Amulet and this, on the other hand, are your typical cases of a band phoning it in after a great release streak

I don’t see how anyone can think Amulet is phoning it in. Amazing album

The guitar tones on that album are some of the best I’ve ever heard

amulet is so boring half of the time idk. lustration, never tell a soul, at night it gets worse and flesh in bone are great but a lot of that album is very in one ear out the other. vocal melodies are such nothing on that album most of the time and the instrumental textures are too samey to really distinguish a lot of songs even after maaaany listens on my part sorry bros. indras net is one of the best circa songs ever tho so shoutout those bonuses

guess this continues the trend of my fav circa releases being the odd number cycles in their discog (juturna, bsn/appendage, descensus)

Those are my faves too.

I also agree that Green's performance is very lackluster on Amulet, onion
