I saw TDEP at a small venue in springfield, MO in 2005, it was them and Zao opening for Unearth. I was 19, legit thought I might die at that show and I'm 6'2. Greg, ben and OG guitarist were all three in the crowd after the first note of Panasonic Youth, Greg was swinging from the low ceiling blowing fire during sugar coated sour, and by the end of the set greg had lit chris pennie's drumset on fire.
The fact that Unearth didn't not only held their own but arguably put on a better show that night is forever amazing to me.

My first Dillinger show was Warped 08 and Greg climbed to the top of the stage. Was already a fan but this left a massive impression on young me lol

It’s amazing with the amount of ragers they’ve made throughout the years, somehow Thing With Feathers manages to be the most devastating track they ever wrote. That, People Verses, and All This and War have grown to be my favorite tracks on the record and some of the best songs they ever made
RIP ETID. You’re missed < / 3

Thing With Feathers isn't half as devastating as Petal, but I always hated the soft songs. People Verses is an all timer tho (and a pretty effective introduction if you wanna show your friends etid in my experience)

I am planning a discog run/ranking soon as I feel I did not appreciate the two albums before this properly. Still think they were great but Hot Damn and NJA remain my favorites.

Greg picked up my homie by his hair with one arm in 2005. That was during the fire blowing years too, in a small venue. They also had people swinging from the HVAC shit and like tore all this piping out of the ceiling while people were killing each other during 43% burnt. Absolutely insane for 15 y/o me

god I just wish Greg was as good a lyricist as Keith. Greg’s lyrics aren’t bad, but pretty much everyone comes across as an amateur compared to him. Especially on that track, this whole album might be my favorite lyrics of Keith’s.
JUST PUT THE MESS YOU WONT CLEAN UP IN YOUR WILL

Yeah, Keith is an incredible lyricist and is one of my favourite things about this band. Keiths vocals are quite hit or miss for me but his lyrics always go hard. Greg is one of the best vocalists in rock/metal ever and he has written some great lyrics too but I do think he prioritises his vocal melodies and screams. There is nothing wrong with that by the way but I do think that is why he typically lacks in amazing lyrics compared to Keith.
