Both can be good. They're for different audiences though for sure.

( and its shorter so it's automatically better! /s)

I've been listening to this nonstop since it came out.

I get the criticisms of it being too long, but only if you're lukewarm or worse on the album. It is right in my wheelhouse so I'm not complaining.

I loved how they brought back themes and riffs from previous songs and albums, all while fucking them up enough to make them interesting in their own right. The medley of songs from the previous album on masstadens nationalsang is one hardcore fans of the previous album will get real horny for.

I mean if you dont like it you dont like it. Theres alot of criticisms one could have on this record. Just like any record. It's a bit all over the place and pieced together. Doesn't have alot of structure. The riffs are great but again all over the place

It's an interesting comparison to humanity's last breath. It's sort of in the same ballpark arrangement and riff style wise but the overall vibe is very different. Like HLB is more oppressive sounding while this is more spacy. Anyhow more great music is always a good thing.

Well said dmax, I enjoyed the album so I threw it up for the recommended albums since you brought it up.

I don't understand the "every song sounds the same" argument. Maybe they sound the same if you don't understand what the instruments are doing??

Big step up from the debut. Something about how they build around the ambience makes this much more engaging than the debut which gets boring after the first five songs imop. (All these feelings is great though) What suprises me the most with this is although its 80 minutes theres only 2 or 3 tracks that I'd consider skippable.

Album deserves a 4 for the album art alone. The YT slideshow with each song getting its own artwork is so cool.

One of the best songs here for sure. Plus that wolf howl sample towards the end is such a nice touch.

I will admit though that the length drags this down a bit for me as a start to finish experience. Much like Meshuggah, I get my fix of this style after just a few songs
