Best album since shogun, no question

Album Rating: 2.5
Why did this band become so overhyped by Sputnik? None of the last 3 albums are even better than Shogun. It's like everyone got a sudden hard on ever since they started using blast beats. Still so damn predictable.

Shogun is a bit underrated on here though, so it kinda evens out.

Surprised you don't think this sounds like Parkway Drive demos too

i'd like a proper mix of this album that doesn't make put the vox up front like the matt heafy and friends show.

Sounds like someone has a limited scope for bait.

Album is awesome. The only thing I have to complain about is the mixing.

Like A Sword Over Damocles is stupidly catchy.

I'm so glad this album turned out so great. I was REALLY not digging their post-Shogun output, but this kinda knocked my socks off.

Okay whoever's in charge of putting out the ratings on Allmusic needs to get fucking fired lmfao
they changed their ratings on Ascendancy (from a 4 to a 5) and Shogun (from 4.5 to 3.5)

A Trivium album averaging 4.1? I know when I'm being lied to..
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
I don't think the average is too surprising, not only because it's arguably their best album, but for the more obvious reason that this is their 10th album and therefore the vast majority of people bothering to check it out are already fans of the band ;)
Shogun definitely should have a higher average than TSATS like on RYM, but it was released back when the band was much more hated :'(

| |
Album Rating: 4.5
TSATS at a 3.9 is still pretty surprising... as well as Vengeance Falls and Silence in the Snow being at 3.0 cause those albums are fucking awful.
Trivium just has a ton of lurker fan boys on here idk what to say. Scrolling through the ratings and there's tons of users I've never seen or heard of giving this 4.5+ ratings.

I'd argue that a lot of mainstream metal and rock bands tend to roll that way here.
Anyways this is fucking wild. Crazy invigorated riffs, some wonderfully intricate drum performance and cathartic and earned build ups. Tbh this could, just maybe, be better than Shogun.

4.1 lmfao

Album Art is legitimately fantastic though, I'll admit that.
