Okay, I'll check out treats as well
The songwriting here is so condensed yet flows so well, might bump rating after a couple revisits

Album Rating: 4.5
For some reason I never rated Treats but I agree that it barely edges this

They are both 4.5s - Treats took a long time to grow on me, band can seem trashy on first exposure
Treats riffs a bit more

Wow I haven't thought of these guys since 2010 when the hipsters were jacking it to em

Hipsters had to wait 11 years to be proven right tho, this rules

Reign of Terror is pretty good too yeah, half its tracklist is decent
|

I don't get it

Gyro - I think it would be easier coming to this after knowing and (ideally) liking Treats
Treats is more obvious with what they are trying to go for in terms of appeal, this is a bit more tricksy

Album Rating: 3.0
For me, this is the best thing they've done since the first album.

The only sleigh bells album is treats

This is the type of pop Oneohtrix Point Never predicted on ‘Garden of Delete’
Definitely reminded of OPN more than anyone else on this album
Almost a ‘Sticky Drama’ remix album. Which is great obviously.

"Have you never listened to Sleigh Bells before Johnny? Honestly no idea what you'll think of this. I could see you liking it or hating it with about equal probability, ha."
woo okay i'll check!
"would be easier coming to this after knowing and (ideally) liking Treats"
actually okay i'll check that instead
"This is the type of pop Oneohtrix Point Never predicted on ‘Garden of Delete'"
actually cancel that and ignore all doofposts from this whole thread, i'll check this instead instead

The sound palette is very Oneohtrix Point Never
If there’s an instrumental intro/outro or segue between tracks on this album it invariably sounds a lot like something from ‘Garden of Delete’

I've been trying to make a comparison between this band and the "PC Music ethos", but the OPN comparison works perfect for this album

Whatever the hell 'pc music ethos' is supposed to mean
They just seem to really like playing around with the parameters of pop music
