I mean, I feel like they've always had it in them. I never was a huge fan but always respected and watched and hoped from afar. This is the one they've been hedging towards (or not?), and it's just a beautiful end-of-summer surprise.

Yeah this is mostly likely going to be in my top 10 AOTY. Never ever thought I would say that about The Killers

it's a solid indie pop album with a small town fixation and above average lyricism
it's fucking catnip for this abandoned termite mound of a site
it's pretty good

Caroline Polachek has a song with Chairlift that she converted into Japanese. You'd love it.

It’s not abandoned as long as I am still here. I carry this stable.

indie pop seems like a poor descriptor tbh, hardly any pop tracks here

Island records, my favorite indie label.
Also, this isn't that good. Quarantine has melted your brains beyond repair.

After 1 spin this is absolutely not better than Sam's Town, but also definitely their best album since. Gotta give it more time before rating

It’s as cosy as playing ‘Nebraska’ while chomping a chicken laksa on these chilly winter nights
Oh it’s summer

After 2 spins, Cody, West Hills, and a couple others I can't remember the names of stood out as awesome, but then I'm snoring listening to tracks like Desperate Things and Runaway Horses

West Hills is great, tempers that hilarious Killers bombast without being dull. Some of the others are fairly good without being essential. The songs do start to bleed into each other

West hills and Cody are noticeably way better than anything else here. And yea it does start to sound homogenous after a while. Prob a 3 or 3.5

desperate things is their best song tbh. but I understand people being put off by it, we're not used to good songwriting from the killers
