I might actually have to check this out, at least for a song or so. Sowing never tears into anybody like this.

it took me probably twenty times listening to that song to realize that she's not saying goo goo ga ga in the chorus

can we please just exterminate this new awful trope of obnoxiously nasally voices without any enunciation in pop music forever?

I wonder if she's quitting because of the terrible reception this is getting across the board

Are you sure?: https://www.allmusic.com/album/welcome-to-the-madhouse-mw0003542012

Oh....oh no. I assumed from that viral single that perhaps she had an excellent, if unique, voice that would propel a well-produced pop album nicely. How wrong I was, apparently. This review kind of makes me want to take a morbid peek behind the curtain and do some light reading on this monstrosity while listening to only the worst tracks on the album.

Mediocrity is boring, but this, this is potentially fascinating.

"bigger" outlets are giving the default positive review for this but just about any internet circle has panned it hard. no idea what the average joe thinks

“Money + fame =/= mental well-being”

If this person inspires your pity, your pity is horribly misplaced.

Well hopefully we balanced it a bit with Nick Cave - he's gotta make up for at least Dance Monkey yeah?

"never really understood the vitriol for Dance Monkey in particular though, there are far worse overplayed radio hits. like remember that “once I was 7 years old” song that was popular around the same time? I’ll take Dance Monkey over that any day"

Same. It at least sounded different than most of the other garbage on the charts. Though nothing about it said "I need to check out an album of this!".

I know this is a horrid comment but I could at least stomach it a bit more if she was remotely fuckable but alas
