It's a reference from Steak's soundoff for Periphery IV that has like 70 bumps

It's like one of the oldest memes on Sput at this point. It dates back to someone's (I think it was KILL's) Periphery II review.

oh word i gotcha. tbh i don’t even mind spencer’s vocals. it’s just something about this guy, or at least the way he’s utilized on here. he’s clearly very talented, but it sounds like he’s trying to do too much in a way that ultimately clashes with the rest of the band

Yeah I'm likely going to 5 this soon. This is everything I want in a djentprog album.
Glad to see you raised your rating, Purple Spartan.

Indeed, every scene-kid djent-prog Meshuggah rip-off has more melodic sensibilities than Meshuggah themselves.

I just discovered that there is another Swedish band, a black metal band, called Karmanjaka (no "h" at the end) that came out nearly the exact same time as these guys. The name comes from a popular book in Sweden, but still it's a hell of a coincidence.

I just finished reading The Brothers Lionheart where this band got its name, and man is it fitting. Excellent book.

i swear this album is better than most of the progressive metalcore / djent releases in recent years. this album just has soul. something i feel that a lot of bands have started to lack in the genre for quite some time now.
