after a revisit...i'm still liking this more. not sure what the issue is, that it's softer?

For you or others? I have near 800 words on why I think this isn’t as good as the debut…

for others. this is more subtle, more subdued, and i think that makes it stronger

This grew even more today. Powerful stuff

The debut has plenty of subtle sections mixed in with the heavier material, and it all lands way better than anything here. Everything from the riffs to the vocals come across as genuine on and emotive on Hymn, and everything here feels janky and forced. I keep trying to give it more chances but I'm not finding it engaging on any level.

cant rlly argue with that but tbh here there's some one-liners that immediately got me (the ending of Bleed Me: WHERE'S MY MEDICINE...I NEED YOU)

Didn't felt much after the first listen but it clicked on this second go. A step down from the debut but still very good.

Agreed. Doesn't feel as special as the first album but still really solid and in the end quite unique.

subtract 0.5 from your rating for every time they sing the word 'rescue'

I mean I enjoyed listening to this...but it just doesn't stick with me. Both spins I've found myself drifting off towards the middle of the album.
Bit like the past few KSE albums really...

Awesome to revisit. So much quality on this. Even the radio rock tunes like Rescue are fun
