I added it to DB in 2019. It wasn't officially released but it was recorded in 2019 and sold on shows.

Damnably records released it properly on streaming platforms and on vinyl on June 24th this year.

Chambered's Top 5 Games of The 2010's

Finally got around to this after some thought and careful examination. Let me know what you agree with, what you disagree with, and share your list!

1 Kentucky Route Zero

Quite possibly the most crucial, relevant, and vital piece of art released the last decade from any medium. Part dystopian nightmare, part surrealistic David Lynch-esque noir, part American cautionary tale. The music, the story, the characters, the set pieces all combine to create the most convincing argument for "video games are art" ever conceived. At its heart it explores a central question that American Life has seemingly been leading up to since we came upon this land as a people: "what do we owe?". Amazing.

2 Disco Elysium

Man, what a wild ride. What a critique of how deep our societal systems and personal ideologies have their claws into our identities. If being forward thinking was a match, this is the flame that erupts. Disco is a masterpiece.

3 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild

Is it over yet? Can we stop now? Can we move on from the constant, over indulgence and excessive use of open world rpg as a genre? This is the last stop on the trail. Breath is as smooth as gameplay gets, as deep and fulfilling as anything else in the medium. It's like warm butter. You see this game Ubisoft? Enough already. This should be looked back on as a benchmark title in a genre that desperately needed this reimagination of itself.

4 The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

I spent the first eight hours doing two side quests and playing around with alchemy. And it was glorious. This is the best game (until September) by the best dev in the industry. That's all you need to know.

5 Journey

SO many games were deserving of this spot. Skyrim? Of course. Dark Souls 2? You better believe it. Cuphead? Absolutely. And the list goes on. Eventually I went with something that felt more sentimental to me than anything. Journey is just that, and it's probably the most beautiful game I've ever played in more ways than one.

It's hard to criticise music like this for being too much, too fast, but I feel their barrage of infectious grooves and melodic door-slammers have enough going for them to warrant a little more of their own space.

I actually really enjoy the brevity of this album. It's a welcome change from the usual 30-to-45-minute album that has about the same amount of ideas but takes twice as long to express them, with songs that repeat ideas needlessly, without any genuine urgency in doing so. Moriendi's mention of the Minutemen is quite apt as the pacing is reminiscent of first-wave hardcore records, and how the concise delivery of those bands was inherently appealing and not merely a reflection of their amateur musicianship.

That said, taking more time to expand on ideas would be an obvious but viable avenue for the band to explore going forward, in the interest of not repeating themselves. Theoretically, the inverse could work too (i.e. writing songs that are even more compressed and breakneck than the ones on this album). Since this record is a couple years old, I'm excited to hear how the band has evolved / will continue to evolve.

Random question but why are some songs in ALL CAPS, but others are in all lower case, but others only capitalize the tracks in a traditional way? Was this arbitrarily chosen to make the band look more chaotic or is there a reason why certain tracks are written the way they are

Also is it o'summer vacation or o' summer vacation (with the space between o' and summer) cuz Bandcamp has it listed the first way, but Spotify has it the 2nd way

Random question but why are some songs in ALL CAPS, but others are in all lower case, but others only capitalize the tracks in a traditional way?

I don't know the actual reason why but playing with capitalisation in track titles/tracklists is the norm in Japan. Countless Japanese artists have some song titles in ALL CAPS and others in all lowercase. It's everywhere; completely commonplace.
is it o'summer vacation or o' summer vacation (with the space between o' and summer)

It's the first one. See their official Twitter, official website, YouTube vids, etc.
