I really like the songs, but I detest the snare sound and the production is a little weak at times, imo. Billy Anderson would have been all over this like a rash.

I need to give this a full proper listen, but spoken word passages in metal are hard for me they just are so emotionless and if the music behind them isn’t luring it really detracts. Lot of that so far in my first impressions

Yeah I think they were done ok on the last record, Short and didnt outstay their welcome. The one in the middle of 'Het glooren' just sounds really out of place and disrupts the flow.

First time listener of these guys, the spoken word parts are really great lead-ins to the heavier parts of the album and make for a nice break. I actually love the fact that this is not in English, refreshing and new to me, glad I took the effort and gave this a couple spins this week.

Is it a good idea to start from the beginning of their discog or work backwards? I am a fan of cleaner/crisper production when it comes to this style of music and for some reason tend to shy away from the raw side of the spectrum (Through Silver and Blood type stuff and all that).

I saw Neurosis and Converge in 2019 and that was mindblowing enough already. Can't even imagine how amazing it must have been with Amenra there too.
