Okay for real this time.

I am not feeling the spoken word parts. At all. And there's plenty of them.

It feels like they don't really trust the songs to work as songs and do a lot more tempo switches and so on so on than on previous albums. And there's really not a single one of their patented riffs on here. A lot more riffing along the lines of A Solitary Reign.

Guitar tone is a bit of a let down too.

Maybe this should've stayed as a live happening as I understand it was originally and not have been turned into an album.

Or

Maybe this as a whole will grow on me like De Evenmens did.

this looks maybehype and I will check probably when i both have access to a computer and have heard masses v and vi, but in the meantime

"De Doorn is not a mass. It's a ritual."

gonna be that boi, but ain't this a false dichotomy; masses don't have the same pagan or exotic edge, but they're still rituals in their own right innit?

That's one of things I was worry we about ,kinda it becoming like 'FROM THE BAND THAT GAVE YOU..A SOLITARY REIGN' and the lead single felt like that to me, second I loved.

Bummer mate.

But mostly. Most of this sound like it could've been made by just about any band. It is not striking me as being made by one of the best bands out there.

The production for me is crisp and fuckin crushing. The echoing on the vocals when they first come in sounds fucking insane, I wouldn’t be mad if they did that for an entire record
