I would love to go to a Maroon 5 concert to to figure out who they're making records for. I feel like they're an elaborate illusion, I honestly can't fathom them having an actual audience

absolute scathing review sow haha loved it
|
| |
@fogza I believe they play their songs as an actual band live, which probably makes them surprisingly ok in person

"which probably makes them surprisingly ok in person"
it's good to be positive sabrutin, but i dunno, you can't polish a turd
|

To be fair I didn't consider how the more time passes the more new stuff creeps into the setlist

This is not the brand we have come to expect from you, nice job making it work! Will definitely not check this out, I don't know if I am more impressed is grossed out that you (might have) managed to.

I actually saw them live back in 2011 and they were super good, they shred it up live

My wife liked these guys back in the late 00s/early 10s, and I remember listening to them all the time with her back then before she was even my girlfriend. I have some nostalgia tied to them which is why I still somewhat follow their career trajectory, but they fell off in very distinct stages. Their first two were genuinely strong pop records that I still enjoy to this day. Hands All Over and Overexposed were mostly bad but had some redeeming hits (even the latter, which has 'One More Night' and 'Daylight'). V and Red Pill Blues are lol-worthy levels of bad, and this is somehow even a tier below those.

Yeah my wife still listens to She Will Be Loved. I don't think there's a woman out there who doesn't dig that song.

That's what made them originally good tbqh. They were different than a lot of other male pop bands at the time because rather than being all cheesy romantic and shit, a lot of their first three albums were more suave and sexy. They had this suave arrogance about their music that was addicting to listen to. Then Levine stopped doing that in Overexposed with more mopey pity-party songs that sucked absolute dong.
V was sort of a half-return to form, but then he backtracked in Red Pill Blues and went right back to square one. They were better when they were spicy, arrogant, somewhat full of themselves, now they sound like they went through one too many break ups and it just doesn't work.
