Again, Austin put out another quality slab of sounds. Production is a little iffy, but the songs are there, so production isn’t a factor.

Yeah, I was gonna comment on the production, everything sounds muffled and sort of... swamped?
In any regard, two things to consider: I love this dude [2], and the songs are cool. I like how he used the folk elements on this one.

as a panopticon stan:
the production on this is by far my least favorite thing about it, and makes it (for me) probably his weakest album so far

Lol this is probably my favorite thing he's done. I haven't listened to all of his material though

I really kinda like the dense production quality. It feels like a big wall of sound but i can still hear everything

This is pretty nice, but I'm not in a very black metal mood atm so I dunno how much I'll feel like listening to it. The Embers at Dawn stuck out to me, probably because chill

This is honestly pretty close to the top for me too. Not quite sure if it's my favorite but definitely top 2 or 3 at worst

I largely agree with Noctis, this is very very good.
Only Roads to the North is better than this imo

From his most recent Bandcamp update:
Also...I have been working on lots of new music through out shut down last year (and up until now) and it's shaping together pretty solid. I'll be quite busy in the near future finishing the material...its turning out to my liking, for sure. Reminds me of earlier, more atmospheric black metal days. More on that later.

Album is weird af. I can see it grow/click fs

Not quite sure I get the lo-fi production choice on this. The opener was beautiful and while the tracks sound like they could be great, they sound like I am listening to them through a tub of water.

yeah, the production takes some of the oomph outta this for sure

I feel like the production is a return to his older material on some level. A bit more muddled and oppressive. Tbh I kind of like it but i could understand people's issues with it. Also Rope Burn Exit oh my word is it TITE

on that note he mentioned writing some stuff that was sounding more like the first album, so hype that return to proper form.
