Also to finally answer the first question in the entire thread, yes, this is way better than Manchester Orchestra. This is my unquestioned AOTY at this point even over MMOG and Antlers in Velvet. This is wickedly haunting.

Oops I page breaked at a terrible time.

I'm glad you're digging it. Nothing here meandered for me personally, felt like every song had a distinct "moment", but to each his own.

And of course you're part of the sput-unity. You're just one of the bigger metal statesmen around here :-)

Yeah that struck me as a huge moment. Possibly could have been a more impactful closer than Cri but that one is great too so I'm not complaining.

"weird comparison, but does anyone hear early 2000's radiohead in this?"

Not a weird comparison at all, in fact I already drew that parallel in my review. Lots of eerie electronic experimentation here.

"This sounds like my kinda shit. Great review, Sow"

Thanks Milo, you're too kind. I wouldn't say our musical tastes are always a perfect overlap, but for some reason I can't pinpoint, I do picture you enjoying this? Either way let me know what you think, would love to hear your thoughts on this because it has absolutely decked me. I can't think about anything else right now besides how beautiful, frightening, and alluring this is.

"Whoa, I'm very interested. Listening now.

Sweet, Lucman is on board too :-) first track has some gorgeous piano and I like the melodic singing towards the end, but this thing spirals to some creepy places in quite a hurry, so I'm curious what your experience with this will be like.

"ok a grand total of one track downloaded and it was the 12th track i am pissed and will listen to it"

Either you have the world's worst ISP or you're using the most advanced, immaculate download method that offers a sound crisper than my ears can comprehend; I'm intrigued either way haha. Soldiers is an amazing song but you should hear this thing in order :-( hopefully it ensnares you and then inspires you to listen to the rest! (the hype for this won't be complete without a johnny 3.4 lmao)

oh lol when I said the 12th track i meant the 11th song and also the main issue here is that my mac's operational memory is so overloaded that soulseek ~physically couldn't fit the files onto my disc while i was out lmao. have now OBTAINED over half and am jamming some mildly good rowancore 80s postpunk to give this an easy foundation for an Impression

You know what Johnny, I don't care what literally the entire userbase emails me behind your back, you're OK. ;-) I had to google what soulseek is because apparently I'm millennial-going-on-boomer, but it sounds like a decent option in 2021 given how most similar sites have been nuked from orbit.

It's not really like anything I normally listen to. It just feels like one of those albums too important to miss.
