True, and I'm fresh from Kauan's Ice Fleet - the entire album is like two simple melodies.

"Yet, I think this decision actually works to the album's benefit. Skip it if you want, no-one's judging, but after the violent turbulence of the album, I'm quite grateful for this epilogue;"
No-one s judging, or even watching. Brilliant rev all along.

Solid record, but I'm with the majority here. It would've been much better without the closing track.

I think it shouldn't have that much weight on the final rate honestly. It's as if, back in the days, you dislike an album because of its hidden track.
I guess if we focus our view on that aspect, maybe the other tracks did not meant as much either.

True that. It's hard to ignore though because of its near 20 minute length, and last impressions are, well, more lasting. Having said that the first half of the album is absolutely stellar, and it's indeed, like you said, preferable to focus on the strong points of the album.

I'm not sure how I feel about this.

"Seems like a totally different project" well, it is
I like it better, but the other atmo, more peaceful, epic concept is legit too. Read the rev Evreaia. Or their second paragraph on their bandcamp - here:
"If SPECTRAL LORE themselves originally described “Sentinel” as epic and transcendental black metal, music to inspire the warrior spirit and through it achieve spiritual transcendence, “Ετερόφωτος” walks similar emotional paths with greater maturity and awareness, and can be seen as a comment on its predecessor's youthful enthusiasm, a kind of re-alignment that does not point towards a peaceful settlement, but on the strengthening of the need for rebellious, promethean praxis. In this respect, it is both a black metal and an anti-black metal record at the same time. Graced with a mystical and thoughtful cover painting by the Italian master Alessandro “Sicioldr” Bianchi, “Ετερόφωτος” is SPECTRAL LORE's call for a revolt through radical self-examination; it desires to fight back with the past while claiming what has been rightfully ours in the first place. And to finally see beyond the Self: to where our light comes from. "

I mean those feathers are not even attached to the dude s head. Feels like a mohawk (the war theme etc) but they re just feathers lost somewhere. The model seems digitally unfinished and I have some questions about him being in a hole. Really stupid.
Someone please review this cover.

And yes it is a rectangle frame over a square
I mean, the dude is credited on their bandcamp. What went on there? Only for us to imagine..
