I kinda get not liking early dino jr, the songwriting is solid but the sound was very rough, which was part of the appeal but definitely not for everyone

I don't. Early dino jr is easily their best. Post reunion stuff just doesn't compare
|
| |
Beyond is pretty solid. I don't get why anyone would prefer the reunion stuff over the classic though.

I maintain that Farm is their best, and it's not especially close either. Scrappy DIY production is nice and all but I'll take that thiccccc guitar tone over it any day

@YoYo Farm might be my favourite Dino album ever tbh.
That, Bug and Living are just stupidly good albums.

I saw Dino Jr. open for Primus in 2015 and to be honest, they were NOT good live
I was in the front row, and I still found the vocals, bass, and maybe even the drums inaudible. It was all just a wall of guitar that was WAY louder than everything else. I kinda blamed the sound guy, but idk
Primus was awesome though and didn't have this problem
Sean Lennon also was one of Primus's opening acts (triple bill :P) and sounded clear as well

Primus put on one hell of a show tbh I'd totally see them again, though the biggest problem with them is that they REALLY stuck to the hits, which makes me worry if I see them again that it'll just be a similar setlist

I've never listened to these guys before. This is their chance to shine.

I've tried really hard but Primus just...isn't for me
|
| |
Walking to You is probs my favourite
You're Living All Over Me is so clearly their best imo. the songwriting on that one is just unbelievably inspired & original. if you don't think so, give it some more listens and it will click eventually

"I Met the Stones" sounds like the indie/grunge answer to Motorhead's "Killed By Death".
Love the solo galore.

theyre great live but ive never heard of them doing well as an opener or at a fest. primus probably did sound better because youre actually meant to hear their bass player
idk if ill listen to this but ill see them when i can
