Damn, I had my hopes up after seeing the album cover, because it is a very clear throwback to Americana's inner sleeve artwork. And damn, what a great album Americana was!

I've been a fan since my childhood, probably the first Rock (and all of its subgenres) band I've heard and loved ever since but since Days Go By I really can't stand their new sound. Ah well, the band changes and other people like their newer stuff. Not for me.



But yeah I definitely, something is very off in the producing. Lots of songs are wasted by this, because this could have been a 3/5 record.

Their very first album S/T was definitely more Punk than anything they recorded after but they've always been a decent Cali Punk-Rock band and yeah, not being serious about anything has always been part of this genre.

Would not smash

I had the smash album in the 90's couple of fun songs on there but always grew tired of listening to it, the guys voice just isn't for me, super obnoxious sounding imo.

Remember that really pathetic song on the album, the big hit on the radio where the guy was basically admitting to being a cuck for some chick? Really cringey stuff. Gotta Get Away was a much better single from that record.

dexter holland is your really weird boomer uncle who tries way too hard to connect with you by making extremely outlandish and edgy jokes that are only told for the sake of being edgy

These guys are more of a nostalgia kick for me, I think. I kinda doubt I would dig them much past a few songs here and there (assuming I could get past Dex's voice) if I would have just discovered them recently compared to having Ignition thru Conspiracy as a youngun
