This album is so frustrating because I feel like the spoken word parts and the instrumentals are both great but they just don't work together at all. It just doesn't sound like there's any decent connection between the tempo and rhythm of the music and the tone and cadence of his speech to me.

ah see i proper disagree,
i think he blends the spoken word poetry with the house production really well - it's sort of jarring the first few times you listen, but some of the most powerful moments are where both meet i.e. "and either will you paul" into the instrumentals crescendo, lotta big fuk moments
