The band name is actually originated from a song title by a Japanese band called Boom Boom Satellites, i used to listen to them so much and that particular title stood out to me (even though the song is just an interlude haha).
Nice to hear that Umbra is leaving a lasting impression still, that track was actually made back in late 2018, but reworked this year. It was the first track to be made on the album.

Again, massive thanks to all of you, overwhelmed with the response it is getting so far.

Will have to get back to this soon
Liked my first go around with it
|
| |
Let's hope its just as good the second time round haha

Really liking this so far. I'm midway through the album and am getting Elder/Hum vibes overall. (Even the artwork reminds me of Hum's Inlet and Elder's Reflections of a Floating Planet.) Looking forward to listening some more. Glad I came across this on the front page--the artwork originally pulled me in!

Cheers Fuzzy, I've noticed that quite a few people have had the same comparisons to Elder and Hum which is really interesting, I've never heard any of their stuff! Might need to go and have a listen to those albums you listed.
I think the artwork is a perfect snapshot of the atmosphere of the album, I was drawn to it immediately.

This might hold the record for longest thread on an Echo Tail review.
How many pages is Drowning's?
|
| |
Yeah this is the longest by far, Drowning the Pacific had 2 pages.
|
| |
I'll give this a listen later. Jammed four or five of their albums and always enjoy 'em. Last I heard was The Ancestry, so it's been awhile for me.

Ah nice Veldin, I remember you gave our albums a spin a fair few years back! Hopefully you will find this one a step up from our previous ones!

Cheers man! Glad you are still digging the album and you are sharing it as well, massively appreciated! It seems like Tired of Being Tired is definitely most people's highlight of the album as well, it was one of the tracks that gave me the most hell production wise haha.

finally got around to this, seems like a more complex album than most when it comes to shoegaze type albums, I feel this will grow for sure. Had some amazing moments!
|
| |
Cheers Aaron! I definitely feel that the album is not an immediate listen at first and it takes a few listens to really grow, hopefully it does for you!
|
| |
That ratings graph is looking pretty equal at the moment haha. Really happy how its still being received.

I like it. Weirdly, though, for some reason, the band this is giving me the most echoes of is Alice in Chains. Have you guys heard that before? Were they an influence at all?
|
| |
Definitely have heard the Alice in Chains vibes people are getting from it for sure, I was listening to a lot of their self-titled at the time of recording wanting to get some of that atmosphere in our album. Nice to hear you like what you heard!
