as far as ambient goes, there are way better releases (even this year). i'm all for slowly developing a piece, but this doesn't really develop, it just keeps playing the same iterations with slight variations, with a couple of well curated shifts that aren't enough to save the whole package. cut out the first 4 movements and i think this would be much better.

If you're referring to stuff like Eno, Schulze and Roach you'd be right. I prefer this because it's more texturally interesting at least.
