It could be hmm, it's either this or a 3.2 but if I used normal ratings it'd be the closest rating to 3.0, so 3.5. Sure ain't a 3 and ain't a 4, mathematicians are divided!

Is this gonna make me cry? Cause if not, I’m not interested.

I suppose it depends on your circumstances and mood at the time, but I just bumped this from 3.5 to 4.5 for this reason. Title track did the trick. 'It is what it is' was a good lead-up to it, though... (I skip Volunteer)

Finally gave this a listen and, wow, it’s gorgeous. Feels like the Antlers album most tailor-made for my tastes.

This has grown on me in a similar way to how Familiars did. Very subtle sound, the bass work really brings some parts to life.

agreed, this is def the flipside to Familiars' coin. if I wanted to lean into the cliche I'd say this is the Straight Story to Familiars' Mulholland Drive

How on earth have I not seen Straight Story?! I completely forgot it existed. Just watched Inland Empire recently, you've inspired me to keep riding that wave. Does it follow similar themes to Mulholland Drive?

honestly thematically is a bit above my paygrade but it's just a very sweet, sentimental film from Lynch. grapples with family and getting old in a very straightforward way but is no lesser for dispensing with all the usual Lynchian trickery

don't go in expecting a Mulholland-level mindfuck, but just a nice movie with a beautiful Harry Dean Stanton performance
