This is alright. I still havent figured out what situation I would be jamming this album in...I have my running music, driving music, morning chill music, and my heavier stuff thats usually on in the background doing anything else. I dont know where this would even fit.

i think this fits in chill morning music for me. everything is coated in reverb so also maybe a sleep time album.

soooooo bored without the heaviness though. this is like an opiate vs. board the house being PCP

This is all day music for me. I'm always looking for stuff like this that's mellow yet intricate enough to hold your attention and I'm absolutely loving every minute of this. Probably AOTY for me already lol at least until The Armed drops

I don't know these guys but I loved Pyrocene. I'll check this weekend. Nice writing Asleep ;)

they did a great job updating their sound here. 2008 genghis tron in 2021 would've been a hard pass. makes me think they're here to stay for a little while too hopefully.

I get that this isn't what fans may want, but it's still quite enjoyable despite not being 'heavy'. More "tron" less "genghis", if you will. Drumming is so damn enjoyable and electronics are super chill. Used this to fall asleep (i always use music to fall asleep cuz insomnia) and it worked like a charm, so relaxing and also jams well. Heavier songs like "Dream Weapon", "Single Black Point", and "Great Mother" are a treat.

It's really weird to think this album was written by (most of) the dudes who rocked the fuck out in the back of a trailer bed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJXrbLu2utw

Do you enjoy their older stuff D3, particularly Board Up The House?

I’m yet to check this as I was preoccupied with Xiu Xiu/Dvne.

Yeah I mean is weird as fuck seing metal reviewers and yt metal channels covering this kind of stuff. For me this is in the "not meat or fish" dep. Chill eletronic music for metallers lol eh..so I sense their background is prob more interesting, and at least it could help me to figure out what this is about.
