now that cure is a bit less new i think i actually do like the prod off this a little bit more, at least on headphones. think this one's a little brighter/cure's darker sounding so i can see it going either way tho, but i really like the bass tone on this album

also gotta say as much as i am loving cure, what i have with this album i will probably never have with anything again. i dont need them to ever check off exactly my boxes the way this one did to still be happy with the new stuff, but this one is really, really, really something special

i jammed remnant and wave back to back at the gym yesterday. they go together really really well

true had they written wave 3 years earlier they coulda given us the penultimate/closer combo that both fans of this/cure have complained about lol (though i adore memory fiction and it is sipping wine on my yacht as long as it'd like, i get why it's not on everyone's prestigious erra invite list)
altho i have a hard time jamming another heater right after remnant honestly but thats probably just a me issue since that song is my wife

My only real experience with djent is Northlane's new EP, which felt a little unfair to the genre, so I decided to spin this and damn if I didn't really enjoy it. Gonna spin Augment next and ngl I'm excited

Best djent album I've ever heard, other than maybe Uneven Structure - Februus. Love the choruses on this, which almost never happens for me with prog/core/djent stuff. Riff variety is excellent too, really earns the chuggy bits imo

Uneven Structure blowz agreed.

I revisited a bit of Februus to compare this to and ngl it convinced me to 4 this because ERRA is SO much richer and interesting. I have to revisit the whole of Februus eventually but rn I just wanna bump this

yeah i dont usually think to count this band as djent pre cure but if they are this is my top djent album. if not my pick goes to via or war of being prob

Shit I'm not versed enough in the genre to actually have a meaningful say in what counts as djent anyway, I'll have to bump both those albums

i honestly only hear it this album onward but i can hear more shugg than usual nowadays. scorpion hymn's intro riff is near identical to that of dancers to a discordant system lmao

they got more dj0nty starting with drift - basically when their riff writing became more groove oriented than tech - but idk if i'd lump them with the other dj0nt bands at the same time. cure might be the first time i'd do that
