Eyy nice. You seen that we've got a new Tobin alb coming in Sept? I threw a dibs on it out of habit, but it's all yours if you want it

Noice, I actually just heard the song on Spotify but didn't know about a new album. It's all yours to review, but I can be a backup if you can't end up writing it or something.

Such a great listen. Nick Cave broke out of his shell a bit in comparison to a lot of the newest Bad Seeds material

it's like trilogy lite yeah but it's okay

This would slot very well into the trilogy on paper, but it lacks a lot of the ambient keys and loops found on Ghosteen or the deep, analogue synths of Skeleton Tree. It's very much its own thing and though it lacks cohesion, every track is so individually strong that it doesn't stop it from being an absolute belter of an album.

fair, i just feel like the cohesion on trilogy made them better on repeat listens. this one is getting worse. but still good!

I may be sat near the back (wasn't paying £100) but extremely hyped to hear this material live

Finally got round to this but find only mildly more interesting than Ghosteen. After Push the Sky Away, the moniker Bad Seeds is pretty much redundant. Skeleton Tree, Ghosteen and this are just essentially the Nick Cave & Warren Ellis show. I have however heard Vortex off the upcoming b sides part 2 and a massive relief to know there will be some real gems, like when they used to be a band

Just re-read my comment. Clearly Carnage is entirely just the two of them. Should have phrased that sentence better. It was more a comment on the last few

bad seeds albums really.

In my top 5 favorite records of the year. I like how they brought back some of the biting attitude from pre-2010s releases on the first half. Not sure why this is only Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, where the last two pretty much sounded that way too. In any case Cave can do no wrong.

cute twist of irony, but I think White Elephant can join Lavender Fields as the least good song here

rest holds up a treat
