This pretty cool but lately I haven’t been in the mood for this style of music, still solid tho

i get you man, i feel "Sisyphean Happiness" is something i would read on a Jordan Peterson book hahaha

I generally am for this style. I just think it holds itself back at the end of the day.

I totally get the criticisms of this being homogenous/repetitive, and the beginning and end of the album are a good deal better than the middle, but tbh I really like the production, there's something super nostalgic about it.
vox also remind me super strongly of....someone but I can't place it

The vocals gave me a tinge of As Cities Burn for what it's worth, especially the more clean parts.
And yeah, that sense of nostalgia is very strong, it's a strength of the production.

There were a lot of guitar parts that absolutely ruled on this, probably my favorite part about the album

agreed, the melodies are delicious. band has so much potential

Please never compare anything I do or say to Jordan Peterson.

On a serious note though I appreciate being able to read people caring enough to have a conversation about our work so we can move forward more strongly! I think a lot of you participating in this conversation will find some of the issues you take here resolved on the next thing we are working on. Except the titles. Those are gonna get way worse.

lol i finally figured it out — the spoken word parts are a dead ringer for Jordan Dreyer's mellower moments

Just wanted to drop by with an update:
We are a little more than halfway-ish through writing our next album and the song titles are unbearable for the most part. The most obnoxious one so far is “All Towers Drawn in the Equatorial Room”, but my favorite is “Lord Have MRSA on my Soul”

This grows on you with repeated listens. Track 3-6 are especially strong.

Also Sisyphean Happiness is much more Camus than Peterson (also Camus's an actual philosopher and Peterson isn't).

this is the longest, most eloquent and sophisticated way of pretty much saying "liked it fine, but they're nothing new"
