Part of me wants this fleshed out a tad with some slower builds, more ambience etc. then the other just says ‘be careful what you wish for’ - this is concise, carefully constructed and has just enough in the way of breathing space to keep it from being overly pummelling or monotonous.

If you take those comparisons from your mindset you'll see its one of the best releases from this year. Its a little more on the metalcore side but def has some points/ sections to ease up the aggression you mentioned, but not for the sake of it yk, they are indeed remarkable moments...improved on each listen.
