Yeah FINNEAS had 2 or 3 production credits Row! Kevin Parker composed and was a writer for Dive, I mean just listen to those intro synths and the structure of the song is very akin to a 'Is it True'

Solo Dolo 1 is a 10/10 this is a 9/10 pt2 is a 6/10

"I like the debut quite a bit, but something's telling me this won't be anywhere near as good."

Its not, but that doesnt mean this is bad. The 2nd half of this is awesome.

Much better than MOTMII imo, which I never understood the love for aside from a few key tracks

MOTM2 is great and way more diverse than this. If the first half of this was better than I could see the argument of this being better than 2, but that first half just doesnt hit aside from a couple tracks.

there's a lot of fat that needs to be trimmed on this as expected but it is above average for sure

‘there's a lot of fat that needs to be trimmed on this‘

That’s how I feel about the majority of hip hop albums

MOTM2 has some duds but its variation and high points alone put it over this. I need to revisit KSG, never gave it enough of a chance.

ngl I literally never listen to the first half of MOTM2 but from Erase Me onwards is prob his best run of songs so I give it props for that

Suuuuuper high and may bump this to a 5 but idk, I feel like I've handed out too many this year. May even lower Mac to 4.5

Almost broke me neck with the double take when I saw Phoebe Bridgers was featured on this, lol

I’ve only heard his first Man on the Moon album but wasn’t bad so I’m intrigued to hear this

"one which sees him reverse-influenced by artists he had originally influenced like Travis Scott"

This is spot on and also one of my biggest gripes ... the ad-libs and "yeahhhhhs" in the background are soooooooooo not needed.

Regardless I am having fun with this.

Yeah, if you liked the first two MOTM albums, you should definitely enjoy this one. On par with MOTM1, but doesn't quite reach MOTM2 levels for me.

Best solo project since MOTM2 for sure.

There's something about Kid Cudi that makes my analytical brain want to shut down, pack up shop and take a long break from reading Genius annotations and ranking the entire run of Bojack Horseman.

I'm just happy that he made a good album. Hope he keeps being this consistent in the 2020's.
