"CaliggyJack back with another extreme take? alright"

I still stand by my opinions on these guys. Until Blackfire came back, this band was on a downward spiral into shit creek. The last time I can say I enjoyed a Sodom album, other than this, was M-16 and that was 19 fucking years ago.

It just seemed like they were phoning shit in and cashing in on their legacy for the past 5 albums. Angelripper's vocals in this and his vocals in Decision Day are like night and day (ha). He seems so much more into the material this time around. This is a bigger comeback than when they released Code Red after the atrocity that was Til Death.

I retract my soundoff saying there's something missing - after repeated listens, as much as I like In War and Pieces, this is the best they've sounded since M-16.

Band has it's peaks and valleys. This is definitely toward the peak end. Solid album.

I still prefer In War and Pieces, but this one is also a hard banger. 'Nicht mehr mein Land' is such a great jam.

This is jammable enough but hearing how the little bridge in Sodom & Gomorrah is so much better than the rest of the song has me preoccupied it's going to be a trend

edit: track 2 slaps hard. Also just noticed some track lengths

You couldn't pay me enough to listen to a 2020 album from a washed up 80s thrash band. Actually fuck it I'll give a go

Dedicated myself to giving their whole discography a thorough listen, and this does hold up very well against most of their more recent records. I get the impression that Angelripper decided it wouldn't hurt to slow down the tempo once in a while, which definitely works in favour of the material here.

No one is currently alive

In 2020 you're either dead on the outside or dead on the inside.
