Was wavering between a 3 and 3.5, but went with 3.5 because I think that’s what it will be after a second listen.

I love this man's voice and I really enjoyed the album even though it's not really my genre.

Thanks for the kind words folks! Always find it interesting that Chris Stapleton is such a gateway to the genre for folks or like the one artist they really enjoy, although I guess it does make sense when you consider his voice

I also miss some of the more bluesy runs, but feel like this is a more complete version of each of his works. It maybe doesn't hit the highs of his past stuff, but I feel like it's the best mix of Traveller and both of the From a Room albums

Stapleton's hair and beard game is A1

This is solid, but I wish some of songs were more loose where he could jam.

I'm wondering if it's his voice that makes this so compelling. Even the sappier songs that I'm usually not into seem good.

"With all of this being said, what draws people to Chris Stapleton is his ability to craft a hook"

Yes, his hooks have a unique quality to them.

I always wish he'd make a more heavily rocknroll/bluesy country record, but his slow songs have won me over with time. Cold is a great track.

As someone who generally isn't into country, I was told I might like him, since he doesn't sound like the typical dudebro country pop poo pop most of these guys have been out selling as of late

Should I hit Traveler up first, or does it really matter where to start with him?

I would say chronological order or try one/both the From A Room albums since they're more bite sized and varied records.

Let's go back to where it started then

I liked the T/t from Traveler. Very nice

Wait, am I spelling travel(l)er wrong?

Songwriting is weak, sounds like most "adult country" trash my father would listen to. He had his moment, no more!!!
