agreed i think.

"this guy's discog is sparkling but (as I've probably iterated before) I feel like he lost the thread around Garden of Delete and those Safdies soundtracks. I'll definitely check this out though, Age Of had a few good things"

smae tbh. rifts and r plus seven are some of my favorite works ever

Rifts is soooo good, he was just throwing out fireball after fireball at that stage

If Age Of is my fav OPN and I find GoD and Replica decent but boring should I check this? Can’t be as a bad as listening to the actual Magic 106.7.

yea, i think so... But if you think Replica is boring then some aspect of this maybe won't work for ya.

it's funny to me that someone can take away essentially the same opinion after listening to both Replica and Garden of Delete, although I sort of get it too

that said "Age Of is the best OPN" wooooof

I just don’t have much time for the ambient/New Age-y stuff unless I’m in the right mood.

FWIW I’ve only heard the 3 I mention so I won’t assert Age Of is the best, just my fav of what I know.

I think it'd be hard to be bored by R Plus Seven, cheqq that. the best parts of Age Of to me are the ones that most resemble R+ ("toys 2" ending)

Yeah I'm def getting more R+ vibes from this than from GoD or Age Of. Which is a good thing. Really enjoying the whole thing so far.

Dude this is mega weird. I think sadly a little too flittery, it doesn't work out ideas enough to keep my interest I fear.

I have the same problem with Flying Lotus. Too much searching, not enough finding for my tastes.

i thought the uncut gems soundtrack was pretty great. haven't really liked anything else since r+7 tbqh. ill always check his new material but i think he kinda lost a bit of the magic over the years.

that run up to and including r+7 is still some of my all time favorite music though, so i cant be too disappointed.

Yea, in a way it feels like he just throwing shit at the wall... At least with age of it felt like he had some sort of idea of what he wanted to achieve.

I re-checked Replicr and it’s a wild ride, so much more engaging than I remember too, weirdly. Excited about spending some more time with his work now.

this is my favorite since replica, album is wonderful and one of my favorites this year tbh, flows so well and feels like it hits the best of so many different eras of his sound

Garden of Delete was a total challenge to my sensibilities that I nonetheless respected in some weird way (even though I did think it was a total bummer after Rplus) whereas this feels like it's appealing to my sensibilities in a really sort of facile way idk this dude sorta sold out
