I hated this. Loved LUN, so them killing Destiny Potato to do whatever the hell this is really bums me out.

It's pretty much the same as Destiny Potato though. The summary of my review was gonna be "Po-TAY-to, po-TAH-to" because despite the rebranding this is just sort of a logical evolution that embraces a little more of DMM's Bilo-type weirdness.

"that embraces a little more of DMM's Bilo-type weirdness"
How so? This album is substantially more homogeneous than the DP record. It isn't even close. There's very little in way of experimentation, with a lot of the synth and electronic elements feeling like stuff plenty of other bands and pop-leaning artists have more than indulged in already. Tracks like U.Y.M., Machine, Lunatic, and House of Lies feel a shitload more creative and, maybe subsequently, more Bilo-esque than anything on here.
Certainly feels like the same band but I'm not sure I'd call this an evolution.

LUN struck me as a pretty straight ahead pop-rock album with djenty riffs while the riffing on this one is both noticeably de-emphasized while also being a little more off kilter like on Killer and FU. That weirdness was also present on LUN like in Lunatic, but for whatever reason it felt like a more visible part of this album.

Her vocal flow is generally awful on this album imo, didn't care for any of the riffs, songs never felt like they took off, just didn't enjoy any aspects of it.

Funny, I thought she was the only saving grace here personally

Djelmash has a great voice and pretty good sense of melody, but her lyrics really bring the whole thing down and I can see why her enunciation of words is a sticking point for some people.

DMMs solo stuff is substantially better than this and Destiny Potato imo, always thought he should throw all of his eggs into one basket with the solo stuff, I do think Micic is creating this band for a shot at some sort of mainstream success, and theres nothing wrong with that, money is money. I do want to support him in everything he does as I am a big fan, but he clearly thrives most on his solo material to me, Bilo 3 is his most acclaimed work for a reason

That's the dumbest album art I've seen in a while.

The hair on it, fucking hell you could run a comb through that.

I can think of multiple alternative album artworks that would be better than this, love the artworks on DMMs solo albums, but ECO and EGO in particular, I think he should have done something similar to that again

Aleks can usually do well enough to make the lyrics less obnoxious but... yeah they are not good
|
| |
thought this album was cringey

I despise this album cover
