“most revocation is d standard through?"
On 6 string it's Eb standard with the occasional drop C#, 7 string adds an A#
You're right Butcher, D standard is common enough, but only the great handle it well haha

maybe it depends on album? i remember trying to learn cradle robber and some tracks from existence is futile and they were in d, witch trials and other 7 string tracks are A# ye

This album is hot. It’s better then any new wave thrash today south_of_heaven11 needs to stop acting like a metal elitist on so many reviews. Listen for yourself. It’s a hot album

Unfortunately, the rating average reflects the obvious.
If anyone is in need of tech thrash that’s worth his/her while, he/she should listen to the new album of a Serbian band called Alitor.

Alitor is good for real, checked their debut as well and like it even more than their sophomore

This album was written entirely by Kragen Lum, who didn't join the band until The Evolution of Chaos. That's probably why it's nowhere NEAR as good as Heathen's first two albums. It's a shame because he also wrote Undone on that album, which has some pretty nasty riffs.

"modern c-tuning chugthrash just sucks out all of the life and power from thrash riffs."
Sonoma hit the nail on the head on the 1st page. These new metal producers don't get what made that old thrash resonate so well.

Speaking of faltering sound work, the new Kreator album is a let down, especially considering that a natural sound proponent like Arthur Rizk was involved.
It seems like the bigger the band, the more irrelevant people get to tell how an album will sound.
