Yay excited to check this today. She’s fantastic. Wish it had vocals but oh well

I didn't really care for this sadly. Totally has to do with the fact that I can't stand this type of organs! Eeew. They work in certain contexts of course (such as on her previous full-length) but this wasn't for me.

I didnt find Dead Magic to be nearly as immersive as I had hoped. I'm thinking I should give it, and this one, a good go-around to see if my feelings can be rekindled.

Dead Magic for sure deserves another go around. This is great, too, but imagine it’d take a much more forgiving listen if you’re not already on its wavelength than DM. That one’s a masterpiece

Yeah, I said before that this could be my personal bias but this feels more like a side project/one off than a proper follow up to Dead Magic

Yeah, I wish one or two tracks at least had some vocals for effect. Does anyone else get Midsommar vibes from this or am I just projecting?

Same. Very curious how she sees this herself, what her intention was with this one.

I definitely got Midsommar vibes from this. Hope someone hires Anna to compose soundtrack for something, Robert Eggers' new viking movie would be cool for example.

"Very curious how she sees this herself, what her intention was with this one."

As far as I know, to pay homage to a place especial to her ( a park I think, can't remember the name), and I guess quarantine and lack of touring had smth to do with it too.

I recall trying and ultimately failing (mostly) to get into Dead Magic, but this is actually really cool so far. Persefone evoked some weird indescribable emotions, which is usually the sign of good musics.

"I recall trying and ultimately failing (mostly) to get into Dead Magic" I still 3.5 it...for the atmosphere...the listen felt like a 3. Today I'll try this one.

It's nice but tbh this is just some doodling compared to Dead Magic

Dead magic is a 5 for like the first 3 minutes, then it stumbles off on some boring tangents and never returns to that hauntingly beautiful sound again.
