Genesis was such a mind numbing lethargic slog and sounded indistinguishable from any of the other painfully uninspired products of the deftones meshuggah-lite midlife crisis era

I feel like, jokes aside, you may find something enjoyable here Pots, as there are elements of SNW and s/t scattered throughout, and almost no sign of DE which you hate soo

Yes, this doesn't really sound much like Diamond Eyes

To me it often feels like s/t gone a bit depeche mode

this definitely reminds me of White Pony/self-titled era Deftones, but in a good way

Genesis is the closest this album comes to DE tbh, mainly cos of the plodding chuggy main riff.

Spell of Mathematics has a little bit of that thrown in there too.

Damn, last 2 minutes of Error is amazing. Hard KNY vibes and some self titled sprinkled in. Really enjoyed it, much better than gore.

"Genesis is a bit of an outlier here"

the radio-ready "Hand That Feeds" of the album kind of thing?

"I feel like, jokes aside, you may find something enjoyable here Pots, as there are elements of SNW and s/t scattered throughout, and almost no sign of DE which you hate soo"

That sounds nice, though tbqh I was thinking about Diamond Eyes the other night and how I really liked some of it my first few listens and I don't remember what exactly happened that set me into a kneejerk turn around. I was gonna re-peep that, KNY, and Gore before this came out to see if my opinion on DE would change after those two but I started with Gore and didn't even make it through the first two songs lol.
