Yep, same. Ledd I get what you’re saying but it worked for me when I cranked it right up. It does sound somewhat muffled until you really blast it out.

Braindrops seemed inferior to me initially but then rose to be pretty much on par with the debut... guess the new album may or may not do the same thing

"New Romeo Agent" still my favorite track right now

Braindrops is great, Paradise and t/t are a couple of their best

Deep States is nice but not bowling me over yet

I don't know what it is but I find it hard to see the difference in quality between all three of their albums tbh? Like I think Braindrops is doing something different than the first album and the third one feels like a more direct sequel to the first but pretty consistent quality wise

shame and sin, where you been

I don't ever miss you being on my own

then you come in, all-knowing

like you've never made mistakes of your own

I was completely into this. But then I felt that moment encroaching when, slowly, the songs started to lose their magic. A horrible feeling, really. For a while you try to ignore it, as even days before you were still eagerly mouthing the lyrics on your bike to work, but then you find yourself skipping first this song and then that. And then a layer of dust settles on the tracks, and recently I even threw them off my phone. I still think the album is well written, with clever and punchy lyrics, but shamefully that early appeal has withered and I hardly listen to it anymore...

Holy fuck I always thought this was some kind of avantgarde electronic black metal/band album.

I now see that it is much closer to what would happen if Flaming Lips kidnapped Modest Mouse for a year.

'Welcome in to the best album of the last 10 years'

I love this, but it's not even their best album when Deep States exists. Storm, stopping making daft comparisons to inferior things, okay thanks

(well, except Lips, some of their stuff is almost as good so I'll allow it on that basis alone)
