don't think he was asking for something that sounded like the terror, just a general recommendation as to where to start. obviously Embryonic is more akin to the terror, more jammy but still on the darker, rawer Flips side.

really though, any LP is a good place to start and you've nailed one of their best (The Terror) on the head. album rules

Man, I'm really loving this album. Two years in a row the Lips have caught me off guard. I took a long time to come around to Oczy Mlody so for some reason, I was only tepidly looking forward to King's Mouth and this, and they both have been awesome.

I'd say keep trying Kompys, I think it's worth it. This is definitely the most personal sounding Lips affair in a long time. I have dug everything they've put out...well, ever basically. But, I feel like people who have given up on them will like this album. It gets better with each spin.

Iunno I hate to just cast these guys aside since they've made like half-a-dozen of my favorite albums ever but it's hard to see them as being in any way vital to the current state of music in 2020

At least Oczy had its own identity, this just feels like FLips-by-numbers. And it gets WAY more mileage out of that then it deserves since I love this band so much but even then I have almost no motivation to ever revisit this after this week.

This is nice, but i feel lukewarm towards it. My Religion and Brother Eye are the only two i like a lot.

This album flew under the radar I think of many people. really great album. A lot of great hooks and melodies. And weird/eccentric enough to not just be poppy happy shite.
