Well one of the things that has always capped Seether's potential is that they tend to have great singles and then the rest of the album doesn't live up. Here I feel like every song is just a straightforward rocker. There's nothing here I disliked, and nothing here that made me forget about Fine Again - but I'm OK with that. This is the first time I've thoroughly enjoyed a Seether record start to end without feeling embarrassed by a musical decision or bad song somewhere along the way. That said, my early faves are probably Dead and Done, Wasted, Dangerous, Let It Go, Liar, and Pride Before the Fall.

Only seether album I've heard is disclaimer 2, which is a hard 2.5 for me. Some good songs, a ton of filler

Seether is 3.5 core for me, but I have a soft spot for them in general because they came to my college and played live many years back. My favorite albums of theirs are Isolate & Medicate, Finding Beauty..., and now this. Poison the Parish was also very good. Disclaimer II was good but I mainly just return to it for Fine Again, which is their best song.

Yeah, I'm loving this more and more with each listen. I absolutely love Written in the Stones, but that chorus of Can't Go Wrong is so infectious

I’ve always been a big Seether apologist, could this be the first time I don’t have to defend their mediocrity?

"the disconnect between this album art/title and the band itself is hilarious"

Yeah the art and album name are actually good.

Better than I'd expect for Seether at this point, but it still just sounds like generic radio rock. They should consider going with a rawer production style and working on coming up with less mindless riffs.

did a little digging on the making of this, turns out shaun was listening to a lot of old alt-rock from the 90s while he was making it. definitely shows, there's a bucket load of old deftones and tool embedded in these tunes
