Now that I'm listening to this. The production is very solid from front to back. Nas is actually trying to be progressive sonically, in lieu of resting on his laurels.

agreed, that actually caught me by surprise

Ain't it funny how Nas makes for a better duo with Kanye's protege than Kanye himself?

Who is Kanye's protege? Also I keep picturing Nas sitting Big Sean down in a room before he recorded his verse and being like "You're not about to do any of that bullshit you usually do on my album right?"

Hit-Boy.
Also, I lived for a period of time where Hit-Boy is from when I was little (Fontana, California). During my time there, I had a black neighbor in his mid-to-late teens whose name is Chauncey (also the real first name of Hit-Boy). I've been wondering for almost a decade if I was neighbors with Hit-Boy back in the day.

This has grown on me. Might be one of his top 10 albums.

This is getting better for me with subsequent listens too. Full Circle and King's Disease are contenders for all time best Nas tracks

Chauncey Alexander Hollis[1] (born May 21, 1987), better known by his stage name Hit-Boy, is an American record producer, rapper, singer and songwriter. In May 2011, Hollis had signed a 2-year deal with Kanye West's GOOD Music production branch. With this stimulus, he produced singles such as "Niggas in Paris" by Jay-Z and Kanye West, "Trophies" by Drake, "Clique" by GOOD Music and the Grammy-winning "Racks in the Middle" by Nipsey Hussle featuring Roddy Ricch. The song won Best Rap Performance at the 2020 Grammy Awards.[2] In December 2012, it was revealed he had signed a recording contract with Interscope Records, and subsequently founded his own record label imprint, Hits Since '87.[3] He has since expanded his production catalog with singles such as "Drop the World" by Lil Wayne, "Sorry" by Beyoncé, and "Sicko Mode" by Travis Scott, all of which have been certified platinum or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
