What the hell are the lyrics in Lowlife

What a mess.
Of course they have chosen the VERY POP-punk path that was already present in The Peace and The Panic. Too bad, Life's Not Out to Get You was a banger.
That fucking autotune on the first track, ugh

honestly i don't think i would've minded the switch into poppier/softer territory if they managed to write decent songs/give decent performances
also thx for the feature!!

Don’t do it, it’s a trap.

Album is just so fucking bland

I already thought their last album was a big step down. Sigh, there goes another good punk band thinking they're above it.

I'm not quite finished with this but ANY potential this could have is completely squandered by the slab of vocal effects jfc. I even still really dug She's A God, but this is just so thoroughly unpleasant.
Could see this skyrocketing their popularity tho

This is waaaaayyyy worse than the last State Champs album. Certainly had 3 or 4 songs that were as bad as this tho. At least it had 2 or 3 fun tunes to save it, this has nothing

Three songs in and I actually don't think it's THAAAT bad musically, but the lyrics are another story....

Ehhh, what are these vocals on "When You Know"? Are they going for TikTok fame now?

I think it's okay. After listening to it twice, I recommend adjusting the EQ, cutting the vocal frequencies a bit, and boosting the low frequencies. Honestly, I think the album is pretty interesting.

After one listen I actually might like this more than their last record on a whole. Although no individual tracks stand out like the strongest ones did from that album.
