Thanks, gents.
Parts of this gets caught up in its own massiveness, not quite to the level of being self absorbed, but still.
Can't necessarily disagree there, but then again part of me shamelessly loves that about it. Makes it seem...confident? Though that can easily be misread as having one's head too far up their own ass, so I get it.

Finally post my review and the sput core drops from 4.3 to 4.1, maybe I should just hang up the pen once and for all :'(

ratings are arbitrary, pay them no heed

Album Rating: 4.5
I know it :o( Part of me was hoping this'd be in the running for the Charts #1 spot when it (hopefully) reaches 20 ratings. You're right, it's a totally arbitrary non-factor to the album itself but a man can dream :')

I have the attention span of a goldfish for reviews but what I read was great, deffs checking

Thanks Potts, though your minuscule attention span might not bode well for this jumbotron. (Unless your attention span is only short w/r/t reading sput reviews, in which case, enjoy!)
:o)

lmao fret not my short attention span is just for reviews

reviews of any kind really
i get to the end of the first paragraph and i'm like "damn, a simple "it's good" would have sufficed"

I feel you. Sometimes I’m totally into reading, other times I find my attention flagging every ten seconds or so and it takes me fifteen minutes to get through one paragraph because I keep re-reading it without actually absorbing a since piece of information.
In that case, my truncated review for this would be: “It’s incredible. And girthy.”

mmmm, girth

Some words just sound provocative no matter what.
Girth is one of them.
Moist is another.

I would not, however, describe this album as moist.

I'd describe the bari sax through this as moist for sure (and great review).

'the new patrick holland is quite moist'
queued up. always looking to add a bit of moisture to my repertoire.
'the faust iv of metal'
totally get where you're coming from, though i've always been a bit hesitant to call this a "metal" album, in any sense. even during its darkest moments, i never thought i was listening to a metal album. like, maybe brutal prog rock at best? even that seems like a stretch though. it really just seems like brutal avant-jazz to me. but i digress - your comparison is apt.
I'd describe the bari sax through this as moist for sure (and great review).
Thanks! and maybe you're right....though that thing is probably more than just moist. like straight up soakin' wet.

stretching the genre descriptions is part of what signifies it as a groundbreaking album - it's a lot of things for sure

Agreed. Its defiance of easy classification is a major selling point. (For me, anyway.)
