ANGEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLSSSSSSSSS

Not really a fan of the more guttural vocals, which sound a little trite in the context of how ambitious a lot of this is, but there’s a lot to like on this album.

Out of the songs they played live at the Boston show, my favorite had to have been The Cost of Living. That guitar line directly hits your spine when you’re only feet away from the amp.

This band is an alternate timeline.
Something tells me they'll be "proto-something" someday - always a challenging listen to be a part of unless I spend a few days in nothing but their output (which I have only done a few times), gotta get rewired lol

and yet you cant even be fucked to throw em a rating
Sad!

We've been over this.

“Something tells me they'll be "proto-something" someday”
I think it’s the noise rock influence, I’m surprised how little prog metal or death metal bands have really taken influence from noise rock. This band really locked in on their own sound. I have faith that Pyrrhon will have their own Imperative Imperceptible Impulse-type moment where everyone on this site will lose their mind over one of their albums.

Yeah the noise rock influence actually makes them more interesting than your standard 'chaotic' death metal band.
You know how when you listen to death metal and it feels entirely safe and pretty tame? This band never feels like that for me

Who is gnocchi??
And I just finished listening to this for the third or fourth time and I think a 4 or 4.5 is warranted I just can't make my mind up

I feel like the avg for this and Excellent Servant should swap

you are not wrong

Excellent Servant sounds like a different band. Way more metallic, with their Botch influence being way more prominent. Idk it's interesting to see people in extreme metal circles, even ones accustomed to dissodeath, not know what to do with this band

no one else sounds like them lol

Their live set at Saint Vitus. Same set list that they played when I saw them in Boston, which was mostly stuff off this album. Absolute juggernaut of a band https://youtu.be/xDsuD4npvvY
