Was listening to this a second time and totally heard the YFM vibes. Glad someone picked up on it. A couple of tracks have a Gaza/Cult Leader sound to it as well.

Settling on a 3.5 for this for now. It got a little tiring by the end. If it had something similar to "In Her Shadow" or the dynamic instrumentation of that record I would put this higher. I'm just not a fan of chugging breakdowns and this uses them too much for my taste.

The thing I'm consistently most floored by is the production; Will Putney is a god.

The ONE thing that would push this over the edge into 5 territory would be a tad more variety in the last few songs before Sands of Sleep. I feel like this album needs a "Hell To Pay," if Converge references are your thing. The final quarter of the album starts sounding a tad same-y (though none of the songs as they stand on their own are even remotely bad).

Still, this is unbelievably good.

My biggest gripe is that Brendan's vocals can get kinda drowned out by everything else going on
