Oh, that's a hard one.

I think I'd go:

Dots & Loops

Emperor Tomato Ketchup

Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night

Transient Random-Noise Bursts with Announcements

Mars Audiac Quintet

Sound-Dust

Peng!

Margerine Eclipse

Not Music

Chemical Chords

But many of these I've heard only a few times, and many switch around all the time (Dots/Emperor; Transient/Cobra).

Woah, those last three fall under Peng! - interesting. Gonna wrap things up soon, but atm it's something along the lines of Transient Random-Noise>Dots & Loops>Cobra>Emperor Tomato Ketchup>Sound-Dust=Margerine Eclipse>Mars Audiac>Peng!

but tbh the best tracks on Peng! are cooler than Mars Audiac and it's all pretty tight aside from those last two

Bump for Noise Bursts!

That ranking is highly suspect to change though so don't hold me to it!

Noise Bursts needs a review so badly ugh - it's one of those annoying cases where I know exactly what line to take but can tell it'd take more attention and time than I wanna throw in atm

Yeah I know what you mean. It totally should have a review agreed.

Maybe one day Johnny, when inspiration strikes and spare time is no longer a scarce commodity.

Bump

And agreed I'd be writing reviews out my ass right now if life wasn't so busy

Best bump. I can't get over how good these people are.

Today will be Stereolab day. Again.

Perhaps we should also state again that this is the best thing ever. We haven't said that yet today.

AAAARRGGGHHHH why is Sound-Dust reviewless too?!?!??!?!!? Totally unfair. Such a cool weirdo of an album.

Margerine Eclipse > Peng! > Transient > Sound-Dust > Mars in terms of ease of reviewing the unreviewed albums :[

Yeah I guess so! I really wouldn't know where to start with reviewing a Stereolab album. In any case I feel I need to know them a little better still. I think eventually it will happen though, these guys need more reviews/exposure here for sure.

It's frustrating how little I like their sound post-Ketchup. I think this one's at least better than Dots & Loops, though.

Not a fan of the loungy, Sims-y, 70s sound?

Pretty much. I like them the most when they emphasize the noise and kraut elements, which is why Transient is my favorite album of theirs.

Yeah I get that, the older ones would be way more appealing in that case. Or perhaps Sound Dust and onwards would still work? They're less 'goofy 70s vibraphone' (how disrespectful of me!), have you heard them? Then again, they're a little more poppy than the earlier ones. Hmmm.
