this album has aged so well, I thought it was max a 3 at release and now it easily pushes 4.5

It's remarkably strong and consistent. Halogen Eye is a 6/5 song.

Halogen Eye is one of the less remarkable songs here, but yeah this was a great broadening of their palette and ig fell on largely deaf ears given how people lapped up the safe ploy of Endless Light

Halogen Eye is a weaker cut agreed, get why some would see it as a highlight, it’s a big track

Are their earlier albs worth checking? Already heard Endless Lightfor my 2010s cram wasnt huge on it

Garden Window is their best by a lowkey tragic margin, so yes definitely check that. Endless Light is fine for what it is (catchy-ish atmo-ish chorus rock), but their first two albums + first EP have way higher highs

Fuck yeah
That first album cover just seems so twee to me I wonder if I subconconnciously avoided it like I did Ys lol

Definitely agree with Johnny. "Lay Down" is a god-tier track, though the whole album is fantastic.

Coming back to this, I think it's better than it was on first impression but it's probably still my least favorite of theirs
There's just a noticeable lack of bite and catharsis on here
