I understand people liking this more than Ten since it destroys on its own. Wrapping my head around people liking Vitalogy more than either is a bit harder though.
I mean, Immortality, Curdoroy, Tremor Christ and Betterman are pretty great, but still...

Yeah, this was their peak moment no doubt.
PJ is also one of the few bands that really clicks with me lyric-wise; in many cases I just jam for the music, but these guys are different.
Not only are they my fave out of the Big 4, but they're also one of my Top 10 bands overall.

consistent band

Consistency is the last thing I take into account when ranking bands against each other.
In any case, neither band had a really shit album imo. Vitalogy still has it's share of great songs even if I think it's PJ's worst, and the same could be said for King Animal.
Honestly, I seem to be one of the few who's a fan of both bands.

At the end of the day, I value bands more by how much they please my ear. If a band had a fantastic album (together with a lot of meh records) and another had 3 great ones (with fewer meh records) and I prefer the first band's one fantastic album over everything the other band did, then the first band wins it for me. Consistency is overrated imo.
Having said that, I think both PJ and SG have decent discogs to get by. Some people may criticize one or the other band, but honestly I don't give a flying fuck.
